There are several styles of queen size bed frames on the market today. Depending on your needs and the space available in your bedroom, a queen bed may be too big for you. If you have a significant other, a queen bed can feel like you are miles apart from each other.
Most people like to make their bedroom look presentable, which is why they purchase a bed frame to set their mattresses on. Here are some of the many styles of queen size frames:
Pedestal Bed Frame
• The Hollywood frame is one of the most popular styles of queen bed frame, especially amongst young people that may not have the money to spend on a frame for their bed. This is just a simple metal frame that sits under the bed to keep it off the ground. In many cases, this frame comes with the bed upon new purchases.
• A sleigh bed will make your queen size look even larger than it already is. Not only does this frame look comfortable, the curled ends make the bed much more elegant. But not all bed frame sleigh beds have curled ends. The term sleigh bed means that the bed sits inside a head board and foot board unlike most other bed frames that are just a head board.
• Queen size waterbeds have a special bed frame that is heavy duty to keep the moving mattress in place. There are two types of mattresses that can go with a waterbed. One is wave-less that involves filling tubes with water where the other is one bed filled with water. Many people claim that a regular waterbed is better for their back because the water forms to their body.
• Princess beds are really nice for girls. They are usually made of metal and have tall poles to drape sheer fabrics over to close out the sunshine. This frame is very stylish and can be used for young girls all throughout their childhood and teen years.
• While there are not many queen size bed frame futons, there are some that will hold a queen size bed. If you plan to use this bed for sleeping on a nightly basis, it is recommended to get the futon frame that has wooden slats over the thinner metal ones. This is largely due to the fact that sleeping on the metal frame will press the mattress between the bars leaving your mattress lumpy and uncomfortable.
• Pedestal beds are practical because they lift the bed up off the floor and often have storage underneath. This makes this bed frame perfect for smaller rooms because it won't to take up all the room in your space with wardrobes and a bed. Pedestal beds come in several heights, so the choice is up to you as to how tall you want your bed to sit. Often times these are also called captain's beds because they were designed for the bedroom of a ship which has considerably less room than an actual bedroom. These beds have drawers underneath so that storage is still possible.
